Baltimore Chronicles: Family Day Trip Type of Day

Family days! How I love them. They are a time to travel together, reconnect, detach from routine and have a good time. Both Eric and I love to be out and about, therefore, we always look for something to get into. Especially, if it has something to do with staying outdoors.

We hadn’t been on a road trip since we had Adam and when Eric made the suggestions to drive up to Baltimore and spend the day there – I was on board. Baltimore is an awesome place to drive to, especially if you are local to the DMV area it is an hour drive.

Baltimore is considered a major city in Maryland with a long history as a seaport. The entire city is surrounded with water, which is super refreshing and breathtaking. The harbor area offers nice restaurants, crab spots, shops, and other touristy spots. And, of course, our first stop was at a crab place.

We were told a place called Waverly was the spot for the best crabs in town. We initially thought the place was a sit in restaurant, but once we went in it we saw it was a shop. You pick the kind of crab you want and they’ll make it fresh for you. [Let me warn you: This place is in the hood.]

Armed with our crabs and shrimp for lunch, we headed to the Inner Harbor next. You can do so much in this place. You can literally make a whole day out of it, especially if you like walking slow or have to push a 4 months old in a stroller all day. (My case.)

After having explored the Inner Harbor, we went back to our car and drove to Fells Point, which is another beauty. We had an amazing local pretzel there from this cute little place. Then, we walked around more. The whole area definitely gives you the feel of Europe, I noticed. We sat by the water and let me tell you that was refreshing!

I have also put together a short vlog documenting our day below. It was an awesome day trip. I encourage you all to have a family times/days – it is very important.

I hope you enjoy the read and as always I’d love to hear from you. Have you been to Baltimore and what have been your favorite parts about it? What do you do for family day?

Yours,
